The CinePearl Take
Director Digpal Lanjekar handles the epic with a measured pace that lets the devotional verses breathe, while Smita Shewale delivers a quietly powerful performance as Tukaram’s devoted follower, grounding the film’s mysticism in human emotion. The cinematography captures the rugged Sahyadri landscape, reinforcing the film’s theme of devotion amid hardship. Though the narrative sometimes lingers, the rich musical interludes keep the momentum alive.
