The CinePearl Take

Overton crafts a delicate rhythm that never feels rushed, allowing the audience to feel the protagonist’s isolation and yearning for connection. Rachel Shenton’s supporting role is a masterclass in restraint, offering just enough warmth to highlight the child’s struggle without overshadowing her voice. The film’s visual storytelling—close‑ups of hands and eyes—underscores its central theme: communication can transcend sound. It’s a poignant reminder that silence can be as expressive as any line of dialogue.
