The CinePearl Take
John Benjamin Hickey shines as the beleaguered dispatcher, delivering dry humor that grounds the chaos. Ramón Rodríguez brings a charismatic menace to the role of the mastermind, while Scott’s rapid‑cut editing keeps the tension taut. The film explores themes of control versus anarchy, but its glossy aesthetic sometimes overshadows the deeper moral questions that made the 1974 original a classic.
