The CinePearl Take
Takako Matsu delivers a chillingly controlled performance, embodying a teacher whose grief morphs into calculated vengeance. Nakashima’s pacing—slow enough to let the dread simmer, then snapping into ruthless bursts—keeps the audience perpetually off‑balance. The film’s exploration of guilt, manipulation, and the thin line between justice and cruelty feels both timely and timeless, cementing its place among modern Japanese thrillers.
