The CinePearl Take
Director Miles Swain crafts a modestly paced narrative that never feels rushed, allowing the chemistry between Sirena Irwin and Steve Braun to blossom naturally. Alexis Arquette steals every scene she’s in, turning what could have been a token cameo into the film’s emotional core. While the script wobbles between slapstick and sentiment, the underlying theme of self‑acceptance shines through, making the film feel both nostalgic and surprisingly fresh.
