The CinePearl Take
Villalobos’ script shines when the monster’s growls sync with the protagonist’s inner monologue, turning every roar into a metaphor for heartbreak. The pacing is brisk, never lingering too long on gore, which keeps the tone light enough for a broader audience. Standout performances come from the supporting cast, especially the sarcastic best‑friend who provides the film’s most memorable one‑liners. Ultimately, the movie succeeds by using its fantastical premise to explore the messiness of love without sacrificing fun.
