The CinePearl Take
Jeanne Moreau delivers a magnetic performance as Catherine, embodying a free‑spirited allure that drives the narrative’s emotional core. Truffaut’s pacing—alternating between languid, sun‑drenched sequences and sudden bursts of conflict—mirrors the volatility of the characters’ relationships. The film’s exploration of love as both liberation and confinement remains resonant, underscored by crisp black‑and‑white cinematography that feels like poetry in motion.
