Best For
Family night, Kids’ comedy fans, Bavarian cinema lovers, Fans of classic German TV, Light‑hearted fantasy seekers
The CinePearl Take
Rosenmüller’s direction keeps the story’s pace lively, never letting the whimsical set‑pieces drag. The voice work of the CGI Pumuckl—delivered with cheeky timing by veteran dub‑actor Klaus Kinski Jr.—steals every scene he’s in. Meanwhile, the human lead, a weary schoolteacher played by an unnamed newcomer, grounds the chaos with genuine warmth, allowing the film’s theme of miscommunication to resonate without feeling preachy.
