The CinePearl Take
Jodorósky commands the screen not just as director but as the enigmatic alchemist, delivering a performance that is both hypnotic and unsettling. The film’s deliberately erratic pacing mirrors the protagonist’s chaotic quest for enlightenment, while its vivid tableaux—ranging from crucifixion‑like processions to neon‑lit orgies—serve as a relentless visual sermon on the futility of earthly power. At its core, “The Holy Mountain” is a daring meditation on rebirth that still feels provocatively fresh.
