The CinePearl Take

Dan Gilroy’s direction balances glossy production design with relentless dread, making every gallery scene feel both glamorous and menacing. Daveed Diggs delivers a magnetic, sardonic performance that anchors the film’s commentary on exploitation. While the pacing occasionally stalls for exposition, the escalating body‑count and clever visual metaphors keep the momentum humming. Ultimately, Velvet Buzzsaw is a bold, if uneven, meditation on the price of artistic authenticity.
