The CinePearl Take
Director Susumu Mitsunaka injects kinetic energy into every serve, but the film’s true highlight is the surprise cameo from a rookie setter whose dead‑pan delivery steals the spotlight during the climactic dumpster duel. The pacing occasionally stutters as the plot swings between comedy set‑pieces and serious match tension, yet the underlying theme of overcoming adversity through teamwork shines through. While the lack of new voice talent is noticeable, the animation’s dynamic camera work compensates, delivering a satisfying, if uneven, addition to the Haikyu!! canon.
