The CinePearl Take
Director Yusaku Matsumoto crafts a delicate balance between quiet moments and emotional crescendos, letting the protagonist’s inner monologue drive the film’s rhythm. The lead—performed by a breakout newcomer—delivers a nuanced, almost wordless performance that captures the confusion and hope of self‑discovery. While the pacing drifts at times, the film’s visual poetry and authentic soundtrack keep the audience anchored in the character’s world.
