The CinePearl Take

Jean-Paul Belmondo delivers a swaggering performance that balances charm with menace, while Jean Seberg’s understated intensity grounds the film’s reckless romance. Godard’s brisk pacing, punctuated by daring cuts, keeps the narrative feeling perpetually on the edge of a streetlight. The film’s core theme—freedom versus responsibility—still feels startlingly relevant, and its visual audacity continues to influence modern filmmakers.
