The CinePearl Take
Arévalo’s direction is at its most affecting when he lets the ensemble breathe, allowing the tension between ambition and duty to simmer. The lead’s understated performance—delivered with a quiet intensity—grounds the film’s more lyrical moments. While the pacing occasionally drifts, the soundtrack of original songs propels the narrative forward, underscoring the theme that art can be both escape and rebellion.
