The CinePearl Take
Baiju’s debut is a surprisingly polished effort; the lead—played by a fresh face from Kerala’s theatre circuit—delivers a nuanced performance that balances youthful swagger with quiet vulnerability. The pacing mirrors the ebb and flow of a real kho‑kho match, giving the narrative a natural rhythm. Themes of teamwork, tradition versus modern ambition, and the pressure of small‑town expectations are explored with subtlety, making the film more than just a sports showcase.
