Why Watch This
Die Känguru‑Chroniken mixes razor‑sharp political satire with a playful live‑action/animation hybrid, letting a Marx‑loving activist spar verbally with an anarchist kangaroo. The film’s absurdist humor lands a punch on contemporary social issues while staying delightfully goofy.

The CinePearl Take
Marc‑Uwe Kling delivers a breezy, self‑deprecating performance that feels like a stand‑up routine turned cinematic, while the digitally‑rendered kangaroo steals every scene with its dead‑pan delivery. The pacing balances quick‑fire dialogue with occasional reflective pauses, letting the film’s critique of capitalism breathe without losing its comedic momentum. Visually, the seamless blend of real‑world Berlin streets and the kangaroo’s cartoonish antics creates a whimsical yet grounded world that reinforces the story’s theme of absurd resistance.
