Why Watch This

Zero Motivation delivers a razor‑sharp look at the absurdities of compulsory military service through the eyes of a rag‑tag group of female soldiers, blending deadpan humor with genuine pathos. The film’s witty dialogue and dead‑serious yet hilarious bureaucracy make it a fresh, relatable comedy‑drama.

The CinePearl Take

Talya Lavie’s direction balances the film’s slapstick moments with an undercurrent of melancholy, letting the characters breathe beyond the jokes. Dana Ivgy’s weary yet resilient Captain Ruti anchors the ensemble, while Nelly Tagar’s breakout performance as the naive recruit adds a bright, chaotic spark. The pacing feels deliberately languid, mirroring the tedium of base life, yet it never drags, keeping the audience engaged in the characters’ small rebellions.
