The CinePearl Take
Rasmussen’s direction is masterful, letting Alem’s voice carry the narrative while the minimalist sketches underscore his vulnerability. The pacing is deliberate, giving each flashback room to breathe and building tension toward the climactic asylum interview. Themes of identity, memory, and survival intersect beautifully, turning a personal testimony into a broader commentary on displacement.
