A witty, deeply personal love story that balances laugh‑out‑loud moments with genuine emotional stakes, anchored by Kumail Nanjiani’s sharp, self‑deprecating humor and Zoe Kazan’s grounded performance.

Rom‑com lovers, Date night, Indie fans, True‑story seekers, Cultural comedy fans
The CinePearl Take
Michael Showalter’s direction lets the film breathe, never rushing the awkward courtship or the sudden medical crisis. Nanjiani shines as a stand‑up comic caught between his Pakistani family’s expectations and his own desires, while Kazan brings a quiet strength that grounds the chaos. The movie’s pacing mirrors real life—moments of frantic comedy followed by tender pauses that let the themes of identity, love, and mortality resonate.
