Why Watch This
Jun'ichi Inoue’s sequel cranks up the adrenaline, pairing raw teenage rebellion with a pulse‑pounding heist that feels both urgent and oddly poetic. It’s a gritty portrait of a generation hijacked by corporate surveillance, delivered with kinetic camerawork that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Best For

The CinePearl Take
Inoue’s direction is unapologetically bold, weaving frantic chase sequences with moments of quiet introspection that let the characters breathe. The breakout performance by newcomer Aiko Tanaka as the fierce leader “Mika” anchors the chaos with a magnetic intensity. While the pacing sometimes sprints too fast for the emotional beats, the film’s thematic core—questioning how much agency a youth truly has—remains resonant. Visually, the neon‑lit cityscape doubles as a character itself, amplifying the sense of entrapment and hope.
