Why Watch This
Pierre Salvadori’s “The Electric Kiss” turns the buzz of wearable tech into a heartfelt comedy‑drama, exploring how a sudden surge of connectivity can both spark and short‑circuit modern love. It’s a witty, visually playful look at the absurdities of dating in an age where emotions are literally transmitted through apps.
Best For
Comedy‑drama fans, French cinema lovers, Tech enthusiasts, Romantic idealists, Indie film buffs
The CinePearl Take
Salvadori’s direction balances slapstick moments with tender introspection, letting the city itself become a character that pulses with neon‑lit longing. The breakout performance by newcomer Léa Moreau—who plays a disillusioned app developer—grounds the high‑concept premise with genuine vulnerability. While the pacing occasionally stalls during the film’s tech‑exposition, the final act’s kinetic energy and the film’s thematic meditation on authenticity versus algorithmic romance make it a memorable, if imperfect, addition to the genre.
