The CinePearl Take
Director Kujiraoka Hironori crafts a deliberate, almost meditative pace that lets the tension simmer beneath ordinary moments. Mitsuhiro Oikawa delivers a restrained yet powerful performance as the patriarch torn between duty and desire, while Yuya Tegoshi shines in the role of the enigmatic outsider whose arrival triggers the house’s secrets. The show’s central theme—how spaces can shape, and be shaped by, the people who inhabit them—feels both intimate and universally resonant.
