Why Watch This

Didier Bourdon’s “7 Years of Marriage” turns the everyday grind of a long‑term relationship into a riotous, observational comedy that feels both familiar and freshly absurd. The film’s witty dialogue and dead‑pan performances capture the tiny betrayals and triumphs that only a seasoned couple can recognize.

Best For

French comedy fans, Relationship drama lovers, Satire enthusiasts, Fans of ensemble casts, Mid‑life humor seekers

The CinePearl Take

Marie Piton delivers a razor‑sharp turn as the exasperated wife, balancing sarcasm with genuine affection, making her the film’s emotional anchor. Bourdon’s direction keeps the pacing brisk, allowing each vignette to land without overstaying its welcome. Underneath the laughs, the movie gently probes the erosion and renewal of intimacy after seven years, offering a surprisingly tender undercurrent.
