The CinePearl Take

Villeret’s performance as the well‑meaning but oblivious Félix is the film’s beating heart, delivering both slapstick and pathos with equal flair. Veber’s tight pacing ensures the jokes land without overstaying their welcome, while the escalating farce highlights a surprisingly tender commentary on human dignity. By the final reveal, the audience is left laughing and a little uneasy—exactly the sweet spot of great satire.
