The CinePearl Take
Ed Glaser’s direction leans into chaotic pacing, which works when the jokes land but can feel overwhelming in the middle sections. The standout is a cameo by a local voice actor who nails the deadpan “NPC” monologue, adding unexpected depth to the satire. While the barrage of references may alienate newcomers, the film’s genuine affection for gaming history shines through, making it an oddly endearing love letter.
