The CinePearl Take
Kalmar and co‑director Celine Carlisle let the voices themselves drive the narrative, resulting in a pacing that feels both contemplative and urgent. The film’s strongest moments come from the unfiltered interviews—particularly the haunting recollection of a 70‑year‑old fado singer whose stories anchor the larger theme of memory loss. Visually, the camera lingers on Lisbon’s tiled facades, allowing the city’s texture to echo the fragility of its spoken histories.
