The CinePearl Take

Ovbiagele’s direction is deliberately measured, allowing the landscape to breathe as much as the protagonist does. Though the cast isn’t listed, the lead’s performance—quiet, resilient, and deeply human—anchors the film’s emotional core. The pacing may feel languid to some, but it mirrors the rhythm of rural life, making every small triumph feel earned. Ultimately, the film’s thematic focus on gendered labor and tradition feels both timely and timeless.
